NM - San Lorenzo Canyon
An amazing, free, campsite for boondocking. You can stay just inside the entrance off the road or venture further and go into the canyon. There is plenty of room to turn around in the canyon. 4 wheel drive recommended. We'd love to stay here again.
Tip: If you use the location offered on Campendium, it'll take you to the wrong spot. When on the highway, you'll want to take exit 156 and head down the frontage road on the West side of the highway, heading North. You'll reach a spot where the road continues to the right and there is a San Lorenzo Canyon sign on a dirt road to the left. Turn left. This route also avoids the tunnel.
